About this place
One diner who ordered both the soy sauce and salt ramen enjoyed the former’s depth and the latter’s delicate, layered broth, and reported drinking both down to the last drop. Honda Men. builds its ramen around house-made noodles and Japanese-style broth. The three-stage-brewed soy sauce ramen and Tsūshi Island salt ramen each cost 1,000 yen, offering different flavours centred on niboshi (dried sardine) broth. In the same comparison, the soy sauce ramen was served with curly noodles and the salt ramen with thinner straight noodles. If you would like to try both styles, ordering different bowls to share between two people could be a good option.
Some diners describe the soy sauce ramen as a pairing of rich broth and thicker curly noodles. The rich niboshi miso ramen costs 1,200 yen. One diner found that chopped ginger worked particularly well with the sweet-leaning miso, making it an alternative to the soy sauce and salt bowls. A larger serving of noodles is also available for 150 yen. Rice dishes include a bowl of tasty rice made with 100% Tsuyahime rice from Yamagata Prefecture (250 yen), rice with raw egg (350 yen) and a smoked chashu pork rice bowl (450 yen). One diner who paired the smoked chashu bowl with ramen also enjoyed adding the furikake seasoning provided at the table. It is an easy choice if you want rice alongside your noodles or find a bowl of ramen alone a little light.
Orders are placed using meal tickets, and payment is cash only. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 14:30. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
